There are over a dozen developmental images I've worked from using her references. This one happened to be nearest done, and I felt like finishing it off after attending a Bastille Day themed party at the Jean Paul Gaultier exhibit at the De Young Museum.

Acrylics, gouache, brush pen, pencil on bristol + digital post-work.

not the weapon but the hand (For Sale)

<img src="http://a1.s6img.com/cdn/box_005/post_15/698763_3115194_l.jpg"/>Built from a scanned portion of a larger mixed media (acrylics, found objects, screenprinting ink on masonite) work I'm still plugging away at, and some textural samples (acrylics, gouaches on bristol) I composited along with it, this is named after a cut on the new album by Marillion frontman Steve Hogarth and Richard Barbieri (ex-Japan, current Porcupine Tree).

In this case I build layers of paint on separate surfaces, then assemble/deconstruct/reshape them digitally. Any work can end up looking on either side of that contrived line (I say that because to me its all one fluid arc of tools to use, but for many there seems to be a line of demarcation that you have to be explicit about).

This had components I built from almost a decade ago, to ones I worked on as recently as last week. They came together finally in this form: acrylic ink, acrylic paint, screenprinting ink, gouache and watercolor on various surfaces + software.
