Cathexis is a typological exercise enrolled in works such as the positivist German photographers but with a personnel twist whose function is to comply with a set of aesthetic and conceptual aspirations.

The theme is a compilation of parks in Bogotá, is not a visual encyclopedia, it doesn't cover all of them and never have tried to do it, it compiles most of the parks that surrounds my daily life, is a look to the city - to my city - employing some iconic structures (the game codified, with boundaries, under rules).

As with any typological exercise, deontology takes second place, even when it have been taken in account during the development of the project; what initially matters for me is the morphology and the elements the repeats or are absent.
The selection of the frame are close-ups in which I try to cover most of the central structure of games in each park.

The twist is in the tonal treatment of the images, black and white in the positivist style but with emphasis in contrast further lights and shadows in an effort to find a visual language which will let me to express the underlaying personnel elements: memory, nostalgia, post modern.

The other half of the project are a set of talbotypes experimenting with papers and the classic photographic technique using the male body as a landscape, is a metaphor of my own reflections about how gender roles and stereotypes are impossed on the surface of ourselves by society but if you look closer all that differences simply disappear and what is left behind is skin as a tool for human contact.
