The exhibition runs from January 6th to February 14th. How perfect for Stitchalicious to be installed for Valentines Day! Along with the exhibition I am doing a demonstration and talk in the gallery on Friday, January 8 around 10:30 am. Come by and see how I make some of the goodies! You are also welcome to come and take a felting workshop with me on Saturday, February 6th from 1 to 4 pm. Registration is required for the felting workshop, but not for the demo and talk on Friday.

Promoted: secret garden

Posted: Some New Work

Posted: Eats and Treats

Here is an image from a show I recently had in the Cole Arts Center in Nacogdoches, Texas. I had always loved sketching and doodling but had no professional training and didn't really know what to do so I started with the basics. These are a few of my ink and pencil drawings that I created in search of my own style and artistic voice.

Posted: "Just a spoonfull of sugar helps the medicine go down!" Mary Poppins

I explore themes related to indulgence, temptation, and comfort by creating objects that represent treats. My inspiration comes from vintage cookbooks, Betty Crocker and Martha Stewart, as well as from fictitious icons such as Marry Poppins and Willy Wonka. I make large quantities of sweets and pastries from fabric and household items. Felt, insulation foam, glitter, sponges, amongst other materials I use, hold a social context to domesticity and parallel the current trend of “do-it-yourself” home crafting. The abundance of the objects creates an illusion of decadence that normally wouldn’t be associated with sponges or cheap craft felt.

Created: Stitchalicious

Stitchalicious is my current body of work in which I explore themes themes that are related to indulgence, temptation, and comfort by creating objects that represent treats.
