I created all of the type in the back first with a science fiction theme. Obviously something had to go in front of the type and for me putting a retro looking robot in the front was a no brainer. The name for the piece was originally just "Sci Fi Art" and was meant as a place holder. The words Robot Flux were clearly visible in the art so it seemed like the obvious choice. It all just ended up falling into place. This is my newest piece of art and I hope you enjoy it!

This is the illustration I did that accompanies the article by Chuck Klosterman called "Noel Gallagher After Oasis"

I am pleased to show this to you all as I've been waiting months for the book to be published and now it finally is!
You can get the book at: https://store.mcsweeneys.net/products/grantland-issue-2

and the article can be found here: http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/6937414/noel-gallagher-oasis

Night Call

This is another skull drawing I just did. I find that I am wanting to focus on CMYK colors lately. The emphasis is Cyan for this one. Maybe a Magenta one is next!

Ain't No Grave (For Sale)

So this just started out as a drawing of a skull. I like to draw skulls and skeletons once in a while because I think it's fun to draw bones. In the early stages I thought of this being like a successor to my CMYK Spacemen piece. So I just ended up using the cmyk colors a lot.

In regards to the name. Sometimes when I can't come up with a name I turn on Itunes and look through my songs for inspiration. Johnny Cash's Aint No Grave song came up and this image of this crazy skeleton full of electric energy just came to mind. So it fit.

Man of Faith

This is an illustration of John Locke from Lost! This character has always been one of my favorite characters on the show. I did a painting of him a few months ago but since then my style has turned into one that is more vector based so I wanted to do a vector version of John Locke. The black smoke went through a few changes. First I just drew in the lines to place the smoke on the picture and then after that I added detail to it but in the end I decided that I liked it much more as just a solid black mass. To me it felt more imposing then it did when it had detail.

Parrot Sketch

I recently discovered the blob brush in Illustrator and started playing around with my pen tablet! Pen pressure in Illustrator! I wanted to work with a subject that is in a movie and I thought it would be fun to do Robocop!

The inspiration for the sparks behind his head came from an illustration I saw on tumbr and there is an artist I like who I've seen do it and I always wanted to do something similar. I am talking about both the color and the look and after I did it thats when the title came to me! This is what happens when Robocop falls in love! There are sparks!

CMYK Spacemen (For Sale)

The idea for this stemmed from another illustration I saw which used blue and red and used transparency with two objects overlapping. My idea for this came from the use of 2 colors and mushroomed into 4 spacemen representing CMYK!

Fett (For Sale)

I've been wanting to do a Star Wars thing for a while and Boba Fett has been on the top of my list for some time now! My original concept was quite a bit different then this but as the piece evolved this is what it turned into. The final idea is a much more simplified idea.
