Fishermans Wharf - San Francisco, original art 32" x 24", mixed media. Digitally painted photograph, inkjet image transfer process, acrylics, pen and ink. I use a number of hand made printmaking processes that are similar in a way to polaroid transfers; I print a high quality pigment inkjet print to a special transparency medium, then, using 300g hot press printmaking paper coated with my "secret emulsion transfer solution" :) I transfer the image to paper for further work in paint and other media. I also make acrylic skins in a similar process. It's magic! Each image is unique, the prints for sale are a limited reproduction.

The original artwork is an image transfer print, which is a hand pulled print taken from an inkjet printed to a transparency which is coated with a liquid substance that is made to help the artist get the image from the transparency to printmaking paper, canvas or any number of materials by using a roller. In this way the artist gets a unique image from every print, and can then use paint, inks, pastels or any other media to continue working on the image. Many artists are working with image transfer prints today. The glitch art phenomenon has really been hot for the last several years. It kind of operates on the anti-aesthetic principle, which space here doesn't permit us to discuss in detail, of course depending on your tastes!
