Geometric River Otter, drawn by hand, refined in Illustrator. My mother was diagnosed with advanced Thyroid cancer last year, and she decided to fight the battle instead of admit defeat. One of her favorite animals is the River Otter, and her passion for them is such that I wanted to create a unique illustration for her - something to symbolize both their playfulness and their determination. I was inspired by 'native' illustrations of animals and gave it my own modern twist.

Because there are some days you feel like you're only half a cupcake. Pencil sketch refined in Illustrator. Original concept the product of one of those "get together and doodle" artist meetups. The subject was "self portrait", and the first thing that came to mind was half of a cupcake. As I refined the illustration, I decided the cupcake needed a simple face, as the true meaning of the piece simply couldn't be conveyed properly without it.

Upon a recent visit to Praia Grande, I was fascinated by the range of mountains, hills, and flat land that surrounded the area. I felt that it was crying for some sort of artistic recognition. Since the topography is what enchanted me, it felt right to create an artistic representation of the surrounding area. I took some artistic license - some practical, others aesthetic - in the creation. The colors chosen are not meant to represent the typical topographic notations for changes in terrain, but are instead a reflection of the colors and emotions that the area evokes.

We've all seen the art prints available for New York City, London, and Tokyo, but what about the metro systems south of the equator? Since I am adopting São Paulo as my new home, I felt it my responsibility to represent the beauty of the mass transit system of this wonderful city. This does not include any bus connections, train lines, or the tourist express lines. No geography was harmed in the making of this print.
