Mad Tea Party (For Sale)

Inspired by Lewis Carroll’s books about Alice and her adventures in Wonderland. This is another of my pieces that looks at elements of Wonderland from an everyday point of view. The mismatched tea set from the mad tea party is a child’s collection of pieces from various toy tea sets. An old pocket watch with the gears exposed is the one the Mad Hatter attempted to repair. The dormouse sits on the lid of the tea pot. The March Hare may not be mad, but he is a bit eccentric looking as a stuffed rabbit with mismatched button eyes. The hat, of course, belongs to the Mad Hatter.

This Side of the Looking-Glass (For Sale)

This piece was inspired by Lewis Carroll’s books about Alice and her adventures in Wonderland. It is an everyday view of some of the elements of those stories. The Cheshire Cat becomes a calico cat, playing with the pocket watch that was carried by the White Rabbit. The Red and White Queens are ordinary chess pieces, though the Red Queen still lays on her side in defeat. The Queen of Hearts is a playing card from a normal deck of playing cards. The Mad Hatter’s Hat, however, is very real.
