The girls, one sad one happy are there to symbolise sadness and hope, the heart is of course there to show them love and the lotus is there to symbolise growth. The lotus of course is one of so many beautiful flowers able to grow out of the mud, as I believe Japan will be able to do. The butterflies are there to symbolise the departing souls, unmeasureable in loss. The blue sky is there to symbolise a new day dawning, I originally had a grey sky, but felt that was not the right message.

Their names mean Lotus, Butterfly and Endurance... symbols of hope.

I wanted to take a darker turn for a change, and since I only recently re-read Interview with a Vampire, and watched Dracula (hmm I need to get out more!) I thought a vamp might be in order. So this is my rendition of a vamp girl, still a little pretty but a lot scary looking. Being a bride, she's got the garland of roses and a veil, but being one of the damned, she's got suspicious eyes and a trickle from her last meal.

Let them eat cake (For Sale)

This is my 8 x 10 acrylic original painting of a fairy (fairy godmother), inspired by the line "Let them eat cake"...

I thought it would be a gorgeous idea to have Marie Antoinette as the ultimate faerie godmother... with her glamorous pomapdour and dripping in pearls and finery who better!

A Deer Little Faerie (For Sale)

This is an A5 watercolour/watercolour pencil painting.

I thought of this 'deer little faerie' wandering through the forest, but with a sinister sort of feel. However, I can't seem to do dark works, so am not sure she looks too nasty! Especially with her pink dress...

China Girl with Eyes of Blue (For Sale)

Acrylic painting on canvas. This one was again inspired by a doll of Marina Bychkova's, (Emerald) but also by David Bowie, and the lyrics of his China Girl song... I love that line "I'll give you eyes of blue"... Sure sounds like some pretty words, but we all know it's not true.
