Life at that time felt chaotic and distracted and this painting was my attempt at getting to the core of what mattered most to me. To date this is one of the most uninhibited expressions of art that I've ever created. In comparison to my much starker piece "Invisible God", this piece includes the presence of a hand reaching down, representing the acknowledged presence of God amidst my personal chaos.

moroccan market (For Sale)

I painted this from a photo I took of Moroccan market in Chefchaouen. I spent much of my time in Morocco exploring the maze-like souks, admiring the colorful piles of spices, dates and nuts.

the fierce urgency of now, 1 (For Sale)

This series reflects my connection with northern Uganda, a connection which began in 2005 upon my exposure to their decades-long civil war, and which continues today after returning in 2009 from a year of living in Adjumani. I lived for one year in Adjumani volunteering in partnership with local leaders and grassroots community organizations. A portion of proceeds will benefit the Adjumani community directly as I return this summer to continue those relationships.
