Inspired by the likes of Lynch and Hitchcock, her images focus on dark and macabre themes within an eerily beautiful aesthetic. She plays many roles in her practice; director, storyteller, costume designer and production manager.

By working within historically based tropes, she attempts to never ground her photographs in the present-tense, but create a familiar scene that resonates within the collective image-repertoire. Part historian, part amateur psychoanalyst, her work primarily deals with conventional representations of women, particularly correlations between sex and death.

She studied photography at Emily Carr University in Vancouver, and currently lives and works in Toronto.

Porcelain - Genevieve Blais (For Sale)

<img src="http://a1.s6img.com/cdn/0009/p/2473904_7529980_l.jpg"/>Genevieve Blais creates cinematically inspired narratives, attempting to isolate moments of tension within a single image. She graduated The Bulgarian National Academy of Arts and got her master degree in graphic arts. From a young age she has always loved to draw. Art for her is a way of portraying a feeling, a thought, an opinion or just a point of view, whether it's hers or someone else's. She loves to be able to create drawing or doll or any kind of creature at all that other people would enjoy. She can find inspiration in music, people, odd things and creatures on the side of the road, art materials, old fabrics. Little things that could be just sitting there in the corner, unnoticeable for others, old and forgotten often are start point for her works. She refers to the oddness of everything. Just adores the opportunity to be able to draw whatever is in her head and try to show it to the rest of the world.

Lives and work in Toulouse (France)
After a degree in fine arts, Vanessa Dakinsky asserts herself in a more self-taught art practice : excentric pictorial constructions, focusing on the intimate perception, extravagance and phantasmagoria.
On the run from radical commonplaces, she explores floating feelings, building a world neither real nor fake, where life and death both conflict and express their affinities.. Human figures or hybrid ones go alongside poetry and architecht her worldview that is both strange and delicate.

You can find her influences as well in the "classic" painting as in more spontaneous expressions (low brow, street art, etc). "

Blending her make-up artist background with her natural ability in all things aquatic and her skills as a photographer provided the perfect mix for her foray into underwater photography. Joanne began spending countless hours underwater, both experimenting and capturing a fusion of elements: water, light, beauty, colour and imagination.
She invites you to join her as she continues exploring and embracing the human form in the natural element of water.
Creating illusion……..escape into another world.
