I've always loved the forms and textures paint and various mediums make by themselves - to the point of obsession.

I'd gladly hang up any "paint drippings" as art in my own home, but presenting them as such to the public always felt akin to robbery. For years, my wife has encouraged me to do so, asking me to set aside particular ones for her (I resurface and reuse the plates normally).

Finally, I've reach a point in my life where I'm absent of pride and self respect. So, I gladly invite you to be the victim of thievery and hope you enjoy the process.

The client wanted non sequitur imagery akin to Tyler Edlin's Chewbacca piece:

They had me brainstorm some ideas and this was the one that resonated most. They hope to do more in the same vein. I do too; definitely one of the funny projects I've done. :)

My overly verbose description of it is a "fictional surrealist illuminated manuscript". Eventually, it would be 12 pairs of images to be presented in book form. Then taking 1 page (the more image heavy of the two) from each pair, I'll have them printed Giclée on canvas as 6 sets of diptychs. That sounds allot more complicated than it is.

Dave E. Regardless of one's choice of worship (or choice not to worship), it seems to me, exalting a bloke who personified compassion to all creatures seems like a decent objective. So, I explored this familiar subject with my recently evolved methodologies.
