This painting is a little outside of what I normally make. I've been thinking a lot about things bigger than myself lately and this just kind of happened to fit that. I used to pass this guest house every day on my way to school when I was in Ireland. I started the drawing by sketching what I remembered and then added in aspects of the real place. (Thank you Google street view!) The best part is my memory looks nothing like the reality. In fact all I really had right was that there was a building and a curve in the road. I think I’ll try this exercise again it kinda blew my mind.
