The natural serenity in the roar of the water, evokes a sense of peace and longing. Perhaps it is the journey that the water must take, or the journey we take to witness its majesty.

A black and white edit with a touch of grain to give it an old school film feel.

cottage (For Sale)

<img src="http://a1.s6img.com/cdn/0014/p/4608219_2965117_l.jpg"/>Autumn at the Wheaton Regional Park.

2 sides to the coin (For Sale)

<img src="http://a1.s6img.com/cdn/0014/p/4552867_13461493_l.jpg"/>A 3 shot pano of North Beach, highlighting the newly constructed breakwater. Personally, I love how this shows the calming effect of the breakwater. My 5D is having a few issues, none that I cannot correct, and as my cleaning kit has not yet arrived. my 7D went to work instead......and my trusty Tokina 11-16 was pressed into service. It still works like a charm. This is a 30 second exposure with 4 filters stacked. A screw on 3 stop ND, Singh Ray Daryl Benson RGND, Lee Coral Strip and a Lee 3 stop GND.

Sunset sky (For Sale)

<img src="http://a1.s6img.com/cdn/0014/p/4552836_1502014_l.jpg"/>The water level was higher than i wanted this afternoon. There are some great rocks along the shore at low tide. This small rock feature still did well as a foreground subject. A pretty nice model. if you ask me.
One of my first shots as the sun was starting to set over the Severn River as I met up with my friends at Naptown Photo.

see how the wind blows (For Sale)

<img src="http://a1.s6img.com/cdn/0013/p/4462558_12256908_l.jpg"/>'twas a cool and windy day here on the Chesapeake. So much so, that Reggie and I called it quits much earlier than we normally do. I hung around the North Beach area a bit longer than Reggie, but did dig out my shooter's gloves to keep my fingers warm. I decided to take the long way home and happened to spot this jetty. Private property, wouldn't you know....
I played by the rules earlier this morning, so I decided to continue playing by the rules. I marched myself right on up to the management office and asked for permission....oh my, me, yes.
The froth alongside the jetty and the flag are dead giveaways to the strength of the wind. Glad I had my gloves on. This is a looong exposure aided by the Lee Big Stopper and a Lee 0.9 GND . And black and white made perfect sense, since there was very little color left.

been there, done that, just can't resist another pier comp (For Sale)

<img src="http://a1.s6img.com/cdn/0013/p/4400500_7916012_l.jpg"/>Ubiquitous....overshot...but still worth doing over and over again. This time, I actually lined up the end of the pier with the horizon, woohoo! And I just realized that the moon was also in the comp, double bonus. This is the first time that I composed a shot with this clock in the frame. Perhaps, the frustration of not being able to get on the beach, legally, aided in my choice of framing? All of the gates leading to the beach(es) were locked, and there was no attendant in sight to ask permission, unlike the previous times that I have visited here. Jump the fence, or not....hmmm.....yup, I actually followed the rules today! Whatever posessed me?

It was a cold and blustery morning, and the colors were not so great, as the marine layer was a bit too thick for the sun to break through. Funny thing is, the weather forecast at 11pm last night said mostly clear! My learning's from the forecasts....when it calls for clear, it will be cloudy....and when it calls for cloudy, it will be clear! It still turned out to be a great morning,

Autumn in deep IR (For Sale)

<img src="http://a1.s6img.com/cdn/0013/p/4160176_14980231_l.jpg"/>Infrared black and white

I couldn't ask for better colors, and at least there were a few clouds to add interest to the sky.
This was my first trip here, and now I understand why Gary Ngo and JP Benante make this as one of their top sunrise destinations. It most surely is mine, too, now.

BTW, hinode is sunrise in Japanese...

Gonna get up early in the morning (For Sale)

<img src="http://a1.s6img.com/cdn/0012/p/3551291_6050781_l.jpg"/>Leesylvania State Park, Woodbridge, VA.....oh, what a morning.
I almost missed it, as my alarm clock malfunctioned. Instead of waking around 330am for a 6am arrival, I woke up at 540am. Talk about getting ready in a snap! I was out the door with coffee in hand at 6am. Drove like a banshee and made it there around 7am. Just in time for the sunrise....phew.
And, I was suposed to meet Reggie at 6am. It seems that something always happens, as I am never on time when I shoot with Reggie. Maybe next time, I will actually be early?

little cascade (For Sale)

<img src="http://a1.s6img.com/cdn/0011/p/3480065_2530292_l.jpg"/>Patapsco State Park, Cascade Trail in black and white
