Minneapolis' Skyway System of over 8 miles of above ground tunnels is a bustling network in downtown. Unfortunately this system lacked a good map, so we took on the challenge to make one. This map is the diagram view of the system, simplifying way-finding throughout the system.

The METRO System is coming to the Twin Cities with the opening of the Green Line which will connect Minneapolis and St. Paul by rail. This map shows the METRO when the Green Line will open with all rail, bus rapid transit, and frequent bus service in the system.

The Twin Cities Rapid Transit Company (TCRT) which ran in Minneapolis and St. Paul between 1875 and 1960 operated many streetcar lines that connected the Twin Cities. This map celebrates the legacy of that system, showing the system at the peak of the system circa 1930.

A new twist on the standard red-blue election maps, this map of the 2008 Presidential Election between Barack Obama and John McCain shows counties as symbols sized to the number of votes. Each symbol is then shaded to show the percent total for each candidate - darker for more votes one way and lighter towards an even split. This map shows a much more detailed picture of how our nation votes and how those votes show up on the map.

It's design is inspired by multiple rail maps from systems across the US and more than just a basic theoretical system looks to embed layers of history and political challenges that are hidden in transit maps across the nation. And above all, it's fun to have a transit map for your city.
