We were tasked to interpret Leonard Cohen's single, "First We Take Manhattan, Then We Take Berlin" as a fictional album cover of sorts.

I wanted to create something that spoke with a similar tone as the songs: melancholic lyrics coupled with upbeat, pop sensibilities. Here is an image of the character I envisioned who is trying to keep afloat over colorful paper airplanes that failed to launch; an ominous mist creeping around him.
