The great tortoise and his dancing organs” Installation by Andreco 10/30/2010 , Palazzo D'Accursio, Piazza Maggiore, Bologna, Italy. Performer: Laura Bisognin Lorenzoni, Elivio Assuncao, Jodi Capitani, Rosa Vicari, Ramona d'Aguì, Jessica Cestaro, Elisa Naike Blecich. Directors: Laura Bisognin Lorenzoni, Elvio Assuncao, Andreco, Jodi Capitani. Commissioned by “LA Pillola” Bologna Description: A hundred square meters sea turtle figure was placed at center of the courtyard of the Palazzo d'Accursio, Bologna, Italy. The turtle shape is made by recycled PVC taken by the Bologna fair. Seven professional dancers interpret seven internal organ of the tortoise, dancing in the courtyard and in the adjacent Piazza Maggiore. A heart, lungs, a liver, two kidneys, a stomach and a intestine, leave the body of the tortoise starting a perpetual ritual dance around the big animal. Concept: The production of non-biodegradable waste, emission of pollutants into the atmosphere and the waste of resources produce a serious damage to the ecosystem, affecting living organisms, animals and plants. How often reminded, many of these consequences are due to the lifestyle of western man and to a anthropocentric view of life on earth. The extinction rate of animal and plant species in recent centuries is extremely high. The sea turtle is represented with its internal organs stylized to highlight the significance of existence and being. Organs are in fact affected by the effects of substances pollutant through not controlled food or through the atmosphere. Background: The presence of the internal organs is a constant in the artistic work of Andreco, since the beginning of his artistic production. The artist reveals what the human eye can’t see, the artist goes beyond the superficiality of things of beauty and appearance, to give value to their content and their symbolic and intrinsic message. The artist carries out a research on primitive art and tribal rituals, to process its own point of view on human been and create a personal universe of symbols. "Snakes city" Installation dedicated to "Mami Wata" African Spirit. In the winter time in the Moroccan Sahara there are not so many snakes, In the villages the people speaks about the existence of a city of snakes. A city in ruins, abandoned by humans but inhabited by snakes. (it) In inverno nel Sahara marocchino non si trovano molti serpenti, Nei villaggi si parla dell'esistenza di una città dei serpenti. Una città in rovina, abbandonata dall'uomo e popolata da serpenti.

Silkworm Silos

I made it last week for an exhibition in Prato "Freeshout". In this silos there was the color for paint the tissues (cotton, silk..). This silos had been used by a textile factory in Prato. Prato near Florence is famous for the textile industries.
