This version in dark purple and green is an edgy version with the same meaning. Doves traditionally symbolize love, peace, and messengers. These are all characteristics of a good marriage. My hope is that this painting will hang the home and represent love that is the founding block of a nurturing relationship. Ideally, this image reminds the couple that while love isn't always enough, finding peace within oneself and peaceful resolutions to conflicts help stabilize a lifelong union. Lastly, the messages we send to our partners and the words we chose to relay these messages are vital to finding solutions or creating problems. The owl is soft and patient, but filled with light purple, a potentially energetic color that bursts out when the owl takes flight or chases its prey. Before that she rests on the colorful branch, taking in the sights and surrounds, observing what others are too busy to see. Her body works as a filter, with the open spaces allowing that which she does not value to pass and catching the rest to keep. Is that her inner voice outlined within her body or a baby? What does your mind see?

I love hearts. There is not enough love in the world and I’m happy to spread more. It’s good to know that many well respected and established artists often do heart-series as well, like Chuck Close and Gerry High. The pink vibrates against the blue and visually jumps into the viewer’s space, matching how intense love can be just going where it wants to.
