My apologies for the bad photo quality. The prints of the paintings will be available in July. :D

Here is the write up I did for the show!
We heard the news. Scientists finally produced mysterious antimatter atoms for the first time. We don’t know what it means, but we know that the future is here. We live in a science fiction world, the world our previous generation hadn’t even dreamed of. We converse with people on the other continents face-to-face using video chat, watch movies on our cellphones and tweet our daily routine to everybody. How does it feel like to be living and depending on high technology? What would tomorrow bring?
“Smiling Antimatter” is a mixed media painting exhibition. Each artist captures the anxiety underlying the experience of living in a science fiction-like society with humour and carnivalesque grotesqueness.

Outside the Planter Boxes (Public Intervention Project)

I participated in a Toronto artist, Sean Martindale's public intervention project. I had so much fun! I love Sean's work, and I have a total respect for him; so I was honoured take part in it. Outside the Planter Boxes intend to direct public attention to Toronto's neglected tree planter boxes. Some of them are in pretty bad shapes. I picked the ones with dead trees and a damaged planter.

I tried not to do a permanent damage to the planters because it would defy the purpose. But it was very hard not to leave any footprint at all. I should've used more natural materials, I was hesitant using polyester fabric, treated paper, markers etc. etc. There were so many things to worry! In the end, I just went for it. If I worry for everything, I'd get nothing done.

The first image is "Magical Tongue." That dude was my favourite. I went to check the next day, and somebody already ripped out his tongue. \( ; o ; )/ Oh why! It kind of hurts. Thing about street art project is... it can be damaged pretty rapidly. So you have to plan for the graceful degradation (which I didn't...).

Snakes in the Forest (For Sale)

These snakes have five-o-clock shadow... Look at their sad, crying faces. I was sad painting this. It was Nuit Blanche night and I could hear people having fun outside my school studio. I never got to see Nuit Blanche, ever.
This piece is giant, 40"X30", I have a hard time scanning.

Jellyfish Wrangler (For Sale)

He is a sad circus sideshow, wrangling floating jellyfish. I didn't know Birds n' Bees were an euphemism for sex. After wasting hours painting birds and bees, I got very frustrated. Deadline close, I threw everything away, just painted these and block-printed, "F**k this" on it. After the show, I learned what Birds n' Bees really meant.

In Bruges II (For Sale)

Inspired by my trip to Bruges, Belgium.
