This is one of the largest canvases I have painted on and to say it was difficuly is an understatement. Measuring 38.5" x 31" and never painting on an easel,I was surprised it turned out so well. I do hope you like this piece. The photograph doesn't do this work justice but can assure you it is a very eye catching piece.

My first ever attempt at painting a floral,and as I have a particular love of poppies I thought this would be a good choice. From a very early childhood,I recall being taken by my parents to the Guildhall in Worcester UK every year when they had a Parade for Rememberance Sunday where people watched the Armed Forces march along the High Street to the Cathedral where the wreaths were laid. I always wept because it is a poigniant ceremony and hence my goosebumps every time I see Poppies,so this is why I added the water beneath to portray my emotions on Rememberance Day. 11.11.11 "Lest we Forget".

As seascapes have evaded me for many years,after so many attempts to get the "eye" of a wave and failing,I threw caution to the wind and decided to continue practicing until I got a reasonable image. This is the best I have managed to achieve so far and am relatively please with the end result.

As I'm not an animal artist,sometimes there comes a time to just take the bull by the horns and add a little something to make the image a little more realistic. Having painted the background in oils,the foreground was lacking something,so decided to add a pair of deer in acrylic to add interest to the picture. In silhouette,the larger of the deer stands watch as the smaller one forages for breakfast,safe in the knowledge that it can eat in peace with no threats from man nor beast.

Mirror Carp (For Sale)

The first and last Mirror Carp I painted for a relative as I have no real interest in fishing. The background was painted in Oils and when this was dry I drew the Mirror Carp freehand and painted it in acrylics. Never again as it was far too difficult and art is supposed to be relaxing,whereas this was a huge headache for me.

A blanket of snow lays deep on the landscape,and although winter is imminent,the warmth of the sky takes off the chill. Again the reflections of the trees in the glassy frosted water envelopes the little stream beautifully. 16" x 20" unframed original that is for sale.

Shades of Mink

I love to use unusual colours,and believe it is classed as artistic freedom. My neighbour bought this for his home and it compliments his decor beautifully. An arid landscape with just a hint of water in the forground as if a short sharp shower moistens the land before drying again.

Midnight Reflections

This painting is in Sweden and it was one of my favourites,because I adore Blue. A deep azure blue that has an almost mirror image about it. The tiny trees and bushes in a variety of colours reflected in the glass like water,emits a soothing ambience. Time stands still in this very serene piece. I hope you agree.

Original Oils on Canvas. Imagination is the only guideline I paint by,and if I was asked to do something that actually exists I will fail. I love to be be faced with a blank canvas,with no preconceived ideas whatsoever as to what will emerge,ergo I am always surprised when the job is done,and always thinking "Where did that come from?" I never attempt to replicate anything,simply because I want every original to be just that. To paint is freedom from cares and woes,and there is nothing like letting my imagination run riot at times,so I hope you enjoy travelling through my innermost thoughts.
