Our visit inside the tents of these families caught us blind sighted.

A tent city in Haiti, set up after the 2010 Earthquake where thousands of people got displaced. These people have been living in these tents since with very little provisions. Disease and crime walk amongst them.

We were able to provide a food distribution consisting of a bag of rice, pasta, cooking oil and a can of milk to 300 of these families.

He does not know how to swim but feverishly jumps among the waves that crash onto the beach like blue crystal shards. The sky was a perfect blue with dramatic white clouds. A long rainstorm had run through the night before and threatened this night as well, but for this one moment, there was only one boy, one sea and his joy.

People are everywhere, carrying their loads and bartering from each other. The cars weave in and out through the crowded streets. Somehow through this chaos, there is a sense of community, some place to hang out.

This may not look like the best place for a little baby, but the family is happy they are out of the tent cities, where they had little shelter from Haiti's impending natural disasters.

This is a photo of hope and comfort. Without someone who decided that they wanted to make a difference in this family's life, this little one would not be sleeping so soundly.

The painted Eiffel (For Sale)

<img src="http://a1.s6img.com/cdn/0007/p/1403584_4996260_l.jpg"/>This is a photograph I took on a quick trip to see the Eiffel Tower. From where I was walking, the trees looked as if they were making way for the Eiffel Tower or engulfing it, depending on which way you walked. Couldn't ask for a better composition, It felt very surreal, so I embellished it with some texture.

Haiti was the first black community to be declared a free independent country.

This little Haitian sat still as the rest of the people got up, cheering and crowded around ready to form a parade around their village. He sits unaware amongst all the abandoned chairs of what the celebration was all about.

This man supports fmln, a left-wing party in El Salvador. (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Farabundo_Mart%C3%AD_National_Liberation_Front).

The man was marching alongside his peers through the cobblestone streets, all cheering and laughing. I caught him in a moment as he waited for the rest of his group to catch up, and snapped a photo of his weary expression, wondering what he stood for.

The walls are made by a technique called Wattling where they pack mud, rocks between beams to make a sturdy standing structure. These walls take a long time to construct and are considered higher end (obviously not to cement but definitely more cost effective).

It opened into her living room, filled with gathered household items, packed mud floor and tin walls. She was in disbelief that we were here to help her reconstruct her home. She didn't believe us until we returned the day after, and the day after that, and the day after that.

Clothes pins, rope and old bedsheets is what provided a safe little room where the people of Haiti felt like patients, getting free healthcare and could get all their questions answered.

This little babe was wondering around, curious at what went on behind the sheets.

Her clothes smeared with mud and unkept hair could not hide her beauty. She lived on the hill with her parents and was best friends with her neighbours. Their houses consisted of thin tin sheets situated on wooden beams, barely serving as any barriers to the cold rain and wind but this feisty one never dropped her smile.
