Max-o-matic: Nike Air Max 90 + Sergio Busquets Portrait

Nike and Foot Locker paired four footballers, with four artists in four different cities across Europe. The artists took the athlete’s off-pitch personality, style and enthusiasm and turned it into a unique ‘Nike Air Max 90’ portrait. F.C. Barcelona midfielder Sergio Busquets collaborated with Barcelona artist Max-o-matic to share his passion for sports, his hometown, his family – and of course, Nike Air Max 90. Los Pels was my 2008-09 favourite band. I knew them through Mauma, their drummer (and friend to my brother). I listened to all of their demos and was thrilled by the awesome songcrafting that these guys had. Perfect melodies, nice lyrics, a trademark sound... i loved them from the very first time i listened to one of their songs. I never asked them if i could do something for them because i was to extatic listening to their music... but once, in a small interview for Global Art i was ask for whom in the music industry i would like to design, and my answer was Pels. Cobi was Barcelona 92 Olympic Games mascot. 22 years later a new generation of people that grew with Cobi has paid an homage in an exhibition. With: Arnau Sala, Catalina Estrada, Comte d’urgell , Elenio Pico, Elisasmile, Juju’s delivery, Klas Ernflo, Lolo, Manuel Donada, Miss Capricho, Sergio Cullell , Zosen... and me - among many others. ----- Cobi fue la mascota de los Juegos Olímpicos de Barcelona 1992. Después de 22 años de su creación toda la generación de jóvenes que creció Cobi troupe va a rendirle un pequeño homenaje con una exposición. The Cless Series!

The story is quite simple, but has a bit of soul in it. I wanted to buy from Cless a collage he produced specially for the Latex for fun exhibition (that i ran). He refused to sell it, and gave it to me as a present. I was really grateful, but refused to accept it as a present, so i offered him to make an exchange. So i started working on some artworks based on the little things i really know about Cless. The result is this colection of 5 illustrations.

I was invited by la Fanzinoteca to be one of the first 8 illustrators featured in their zine devoted to show their favourite illustrators and artists. The zine also features awesome work by: Miuk (the cover is simply fantastic!), Andrea Gomez, Supercobra, Gilda Mantilla, Raimond Chaves, Power Paola and Marta Zafra.
