If you dream of fantastical far off places or dazzling distant lands, you’ll be taken with our newest graphic, Imaginary Castle by LA-based illustrator Patrick Hruby. Imaginary Castle brings an Eastern European design sensibility to life with ornamental details, vibrant colors and onion-shaped domes. This bold graphic appeals to the vivid imaginations and fairy tale inclinations of children and adults alike. Don’t I Know You? Patrick first paired up with Blik in 2010 when he was a graduating student (and we might add, the Spring 2010 valedictorian) at the renowned Art Center College of Design in Pasadena. Earlier that year, Blik mentored Patrick’s fellow Art Center peers in the school’s Advanced Illustration Studio class. This serendipitous connection led Patrick to turn to Blik for the manufacture of his final project, Imagine Something Beautiful. The transformation of his original illustration into a wall graphic was easy as Imaginary Castle was always conceived as a decal. Imaginary Castle Comes to Blik. Imaginary Castle is available in two sizes: a 36-inch wide wall decal and 6-foot wide wall decal. When Patrick created Imaginary Castle, he envisioned a magical place large enough, according to him, “to make you feel as if you were there.” The design pays respect to Patrick’s storied Eastern Europe heritage and his grandparents. Patrick had always been fascinated with Eastern European design and wanted to try his hand at it. We think just by looking at the graphic, you’ll be transported to a color-filled playground. "Doodle Our Wall" Winning Graphics Now at Blik

As most of you know, last month we teamed up with the super creative Doodlers Anonymous for the “Doodle Our Wall” Showcase. Today, we are excited to unveil the three winning decals as our newest Blik products. While the original idea was to have one drawing turned into a limited edition Blik wall decal, after reviewing all 99 submissions, we chose to crown three winners. We have one winner with the most community votes, as well as two Editor’s Picks. WINNERS! Harikrishnan Panicker’s “Rock.Pop.Death” was selected as the fan favorite with the most votes and is being printed as a limited 100-piece run. Scott Flora Speaks at Creative Mornings Los Angeles

Last Friday, Blik co-founder Scott Flora was the speaker at Creative Mornings Los Angeles. Creative Mornings is a monthly breakfast lecture series of creative types. The event was held in downtown LA in the historic Old Bank Building. Not to give Scott a big head, but his talk was both inspiring and motivating. He spoke about how he and his business partner, Jerinne Neils (Blik co-founder), began Blik with a simple idea – wall stickers that could transform a room in minutes. During the lecture, Scott visually walked the audience through the evolution of the company from the early stages of manufacturing to design inspirations, collaborating with like-minded brands and defining a new product category. We’d like to give a big thank you to Jon Setzen for inviting us to speak and organizing everything. Cicilia Teng took some great photos that you can check out here.

If you’ve gotten your copy already, you’ll see the magazine mentions oversized circles being available at Blik. The overzied circles are part of the color package story where the design-savvy editors give readers tips on how to use color in unexpected ways around their home. The story recommends Blik as a resource for custom circle decals with prices starting at $40 for a 3′ circle, but the circles can be customized to your specifications. We are thrilled to announce that we’ve got not one, not two, but three winners in the Blik x Doodlers Anonymous “Doodle Our Wall” Showcase. With 99 entries, how could we pick just one winner? New Christy Flora Flutters into Blik

Popular Blik collaborator, Christy Flora, graces us with her newest design “Flutter,” inspired by her recent artwork – beautiful hand-drawn, paper butterfly boxes. Known for her playful drawings that combine clean colorful lines and happy imagery, Flutter floats into Blik with hints of spring. These delicate pastel-colored butterflies bring a subtle burst of color and whimsy as they float across the wall.
